What happens next?

Choosing the right counsellor is an important step in your journey. I offer a free 20-minute initial meeting to discuss what you’re hoping to gain from counselling and to see if I’m the right fit for you. This is a two-way process, and together, we’ll decide if we’re a good match to work together. If we’re both happy to move forward, we’ll complete some paperwork before scheduling your first session.

Confidentiality is central to my practice and everything shared in our sessions remains private. There are however some exceptions:

If I ever have concerns about a serious risk of harm to you or others I would discuss this with you to explore possible next steps. This may include seeking agreement for additional professional support, such as contacting a GP. For this reason, I request GP details should they be needed.

In the rare event that I am required to break confidentiality by a court order, wherever possible I would discuss this with you first.

As a Member of COSCA, I meet with my supervisor monthly to ensure I am practicing ethically and effectively in my client’s best interests. No personal or identifiable details are disclosed, and my supervisor as a trained practitioner, adheres to the same strict confidentiality standards.

Please note that sessions shall not be recorded by either of us and any information such as brief, anonymised session notes will be stored securely on a password-protected laptop in accordance with GDPR regulations.
